These are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of Barbara, my Grandma. She was someone that was your friend for life. She made every one in a room get to know one another even if you didn't want to, because of how much she cared, how much she loved others, and most importantly, how much she loved God. Her love for Him was infectious. You knew that she had a joy that was unshakeable. You wanted to understand why she loved and cared for you so deeply and to be honest, I never understood this until I experienced it myself.

"How are you really?" a question we are not asked often, but one that was one of Barb's favorites. 

She truly wanted to know how you were, really. She wanted you to know you are not alone, that someone cares about you, and that you are loved. 

She cared about others in a way most people don't, and she always went out of her way to make people feel welcome. This is what Jesus called us to do. Regardless or our beliefs or differences, we are to share His unconditional love, and to be intentional.
