OUR MISSION

We believe in the importance of community! At House Upon a Hill, our heart is for youth aging out of the foster care system and giving them a place to help transition them into their future. We want to give them stability while they work on going to school and get ready for whatever life has planned for them afterwards, all while reminding them of their worth, purpose, and value in this world. We provide each guest with a room, transportation, support system: on the house!

OUR CORE VALUES

Hospitality

6.png

We want you to feel welcome. It is not easy being in a new area. We want to share meals and stories, build relationships with one another, and create a family and support system for everyone.

Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Hebrews 13:2

Empathy

Our trials and tribulations are what make us who we are; it’s the force that drives us. We believe it is important to take the time to understand one another and learn from one another.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

Romans. 12:15

Love

We believe that love is an action. We choose to love others because we are all fearfully and wonderfully made--no exceptions!

Psalms 139:14

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

Luke 10:27

Growth

We believe that we all have gifts to share with one another. We want to help equip you with the tools to hit the ground running when you leave House Upon a Hill. We strive to understand people's stories and grow together by learning from one another.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

Foundation

We believe that a strong foundation supports everything, anchors to withstand storms, and keeps things from seeping in and weakening.

A wise man builds his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on the house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

Matthew 7:24

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians  13:4-8
